Lori Eby, M.A., LCSW


Lori has served in a variety of roles throughout her life, which have given her the opportunity to grow both as an individual and as a clinician.  Not-for-profit work, state government service, church leadership, and private practice have contributed to her experience with diverse populations and her core belief that the therapeutic relationship is more than beneficial but is essential, especially during difficult seasons of life. She considers it a privilege to support individuals and families on their journey as they cope with and overcome challenges. Lori is also highly motivated to assist people in discovering their true self, which can bring healing and freedom.


Prior to college, Lori grew up in northern Indiana. She obtained her first B.A. in Springfield, Missouri where she studied Theology and Counseling. She later earned a second B.A. at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois where she studied Communication and Organizational Leadership. In 2013, Lori graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master’s degree in Social Service Administration. Lori is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Missouri and Illinois.


Ten years of working for the State of Illinois as a Caseworker and as a Human Rights Investigator in Chicago have been an important part of Lori’s increasing desire to help individuals and families in times of need. Extensive experience in church ministry has developed Lori’s understanding of organizational structure, interpersonal relationships, and the challenges of leadership.  She has also led projects and teams to help underserved people groups in diverse settings. Lori’s private practice experience working with individuals and families in a direct capacity is a highlight of her work. She has found collaboration with clients to be enjoyable and effective.

Current Focus & Interests

Lori utilizes a variety of treatment approaches to help manage emotions, repair relationships, and meet a client’s goals.  Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy are some of the valuable tools she believes are necessary to bring wholeness and promote lasting change. Emphasis is placed on mindfulness, assertiveness, physical health, and spirituality. 

Lori is a wife and mom of three sons. She enjoys hiking, running, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs.  Lori is passionate about equal opportunity and becoming one’s best self.
