Ian Douglas, M.S.

Ian joined Psych Associates in late 2018 as a counselor. He has developed several specialties and grown into a leadership role as our Clinical Director. He oversees the daily clinical operations and supervision of new therapists.

Education

Ian graduated high school in 2009 while living in New Jersey, where he was born and raised.

In 2015, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Counseling from the University of Valley Forge in Phoenixville, PA.

Upon graduating, Ian moved to Springfield, MO, and completed his Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Evangel University in 2017.

Experience

While training throughout his undergraduate work, Ian interned at Tri-County Hospice, where he assisted clients in grief.

Ian worked for Arc of the Ozarks as a direct care associate in their Counterpoint Division throughout his graduate work, assisting clients with Autism.

Ian interned at Lost and Found Grief Center in Springfield, MO, during the first year of his graduate program. He assisted children and families in grief care by facilitating group counseling sessions.

In the second year of his graduate program, Ian interned at College of the Ozarks. He continues to assist clients with individual counseling for pornography addiction, anxiety, and depression at the student-counseling center.

Current Focus and Interests

Ian has utilized his experiences working with sexual and pornography addictions to develop a protocol for this type of individual therapy. He continues to work with clients over a wide range of struggles such as pre-marital counseling, trauma, and adjustment disorders.

Ian completed Level 1 training for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy. His continued professional development in trauma has ignited an interest in specializing in this type of therapy.

Ian specializes in treating men, adolescents, and couples. He provides individual counseling and EMDR therapy sessions.
