Ian Douglas, M.S.
Ian graduated high school in 2009, while living in New Jersey where he was born and raised.
In 2015, he received his Bachelors of Arts in Counseling from the University of Valley Forge in Phoenixville, PA.
Upon graduating, Ian moved to Springfield, MO and completed his Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Evangel University in 2017.
While training throughout his undergraduate work, Ian interned at Tri-County Hospice, where he assisted clients in grief.
Throughout his graduate work, Ian worked for Arc of the Ozarks as a direct care associate in their Counterpoint Division, assisting clients with Autism.
During the first year of his graduate program, Ian interned at Lost and Found Grief Center in Springfield, MO. He assisted children and families in grief care by facilitating group counseling sessions.
In the second year of his graduate program, Ian interned at College of the Ozarks, where he continues to assist clients with individual counseling for pornography addiction, anxiety, and depression at the student-counseling center. He is currently working on completing the required hours to be a fully Licensed Professional Counselor.
Current Focus and Interests
Ian has utilized his experiences working with sexual and pornography addictions, in order to develop a protocol for this type of individual therapy. He continues to work with clients over a wide range of struggles such as pre-marital counseling, trauma, and adjustment disorders.
Recently, Ian completed Level 1 training for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy. His continued professional development in the area of trauma has ignited an interest to specialize in this type of therapy.
Ian offers individual counseling sessions and EMDR therapy sessions.
